Are you a people person? Greeters are the first people our guests meet at Taste Community Restaurant. Greeters explain our pay-what-you-can concept and ensure folks feel welcome and important. Host/Hostesses show guests to their seats and ensure everyone feels right at home.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
Lobby Attendant
- Organize and clean extra seating including high chairs and extra chairs.
- Clean lobby floors and counters ensuring a tidy host stand.
- Clean windows and sweep outside ensuring a tidy entrance.
- Prepare tables for meals, including arranging additional chairs and/or high chairs.
- Clean and organize menus for reuse.
Greeter
- Greet guests as they come and go with a warm smile and making eye contact.
- Open doors for guests.
- On busy days, greet guests from our exterior hostess stand.
- Tend to special Guest needs and requests including water and seating accommodations.
Host/Hostess
- Greet guests as they come and go with a warm smile and making eye contact.
- Manage the flow of Guests into the Dining and Bar areas, provide accurate wait times to incoming Guests if appropriate
- Inform Guest of current promotion and who will be serving them to ensure a smooth handoff to the service staff
- Answer incoming calls to the restaurant and provide appropriate service.
Welcome Team Lead
- Greet guests as they come and go with a warm smile and making eye contact.
- Manage all checklists for the Welcome Team.
- Provide leadership and answer key questions of the Welcome Team, and report critical issues to the manager.
- Perform cleaning duties, such as sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpet, and tidying up host stand, taking out trash, and checking and cleaning bathroom.
Basic Qualifications Include:
- No experience needed to volunteer as a Lobby Attendant. On-site training will be provided.
- Greeters must complete onsite training. (Pre-requisite: Lobby Attendant Training)
- Hosts/Hostesses must complete on-site training. (Pre-requisite: Greeter Training).
- Welcome Team Lead must complete on-site training and maintain a valid Food Handlers Card. (Pre-requisite: Host/Hostess Training and 20 hours of service which can be waived with prior experience verification)
Available Shifts:
Taste Community Restaurant is open Tuesday – Sunday (closed on Monday). Our Volunteer Coordinator will connect with you to schedule a shift that works with your schedule. Typical volunteer shifts on the Welcome Team are 2 hours each and cover the following times:
- 10:30am – 12:30pm
- 11:30am – 1:30pm
- 12:30pm – 2:30pm
