Every year, Taste Project continues to grow — in reach, in impact, and in community. To date, we’ve served more than 300,000 meals and welcomed over 5,000 volunteers who have contributed nearly 200,000 hours of service. In 2025, we opened our second Taste Community Restaurant in Arlington, a milestone made possible through God’s goodness and the generosity of our community.
Each day, guests enjoy healthy, nutritious meals at our Taste Community Restaurants. There are no prices on the menus. Instead, as a guest, you are invited to:
1. Pay what you can afford,
2. Pay what you would typically pay, or
3. Pay a little extra to help a neighbor in need.
Those in need and those who want to help aren’t separated. They share the same table. Together, we are building a community where good food and generosity go hand in hand.
As our reach expands, so do the needs around our tables. More neighbors than ever are seeking healthy, affordable meals — and a place to belong.

We were never designed to be the fastest or cheapest way to feed people, but we are seeing real, measurable change.
Through our partnership with Texas A&M University, we’re documenting what our community has long known to be true. Guests who dine at Taste Community Restaurants experience measurable improvements in food security. They eat more fresh fruits and vegetables and less refined grains, improving overall health. And they report a stronger sense of belonging the more they dine, volunteer, and engage with our community.
What’s happening around our tables goes deeper than a meal. Every plate is an opportunity to share God’s goodness — and to remind our neighbors they’re not alone.
Impact-FULL Growth
Since COVID, the need in our community has grown dramatically. We now serve more than 50,000 meals to neighbors in need each year, three times what we provided before the pandemic. At the same time, the average contribution from guests in need has fallen to a small fraction of what it once was. More people than ever are turning to Taste Community Restaurants for a healthy meal, dignity, and a place to belong. We remain committed to ensuring everybody eats, regardless of their ability to pay.
Our impact continues to grow and so do the challenges that come with growth. As costs rise and more neighbors seek help, we continue to meet the need with dignity and care.
We believe God is at work here. As we feed, educate, and serve, people experience not only immediate support but also lasting stability and transformation. It’s how needs are met, dignity is restored, and lives are changed — one meal, one person, one story at a time.

Our full-service restaurants incur the same day-to-day expenses as a traditional restaurant, all while keeping every meal pay-what-you-can.

Hope-FULL Transformation
God has been faithful to provide and lives have been transformed as people taste and see His goodness. Chad went from living in the field behind the restaurant to clean, sober, and earning a 4.0 GPA. Stacey moved from unemployment and living in her car to stable housing and a full-time role as a volunteer coordinator at a local nonprofit. Mindy found community, healing, and was baptized. Larry joins us between chemo treatments to nourish both body and spirit.
Each story is unique, but all reveal that God is at work in our community.
Many of our guests never imagined they would face food insecurity. But as the cost of food, housing, and healthcare continues to rise, more neighbors are finding themselves in need of a meal and a community that cares.

At Taste Community Restaurants, every guest is invited to pay what you can afford, pay what you would typically pay, or pay a little extra to help a neighbor in need. One person might give 25 cents for a stack of pancakes, while another gives $250 — both are equally valued. It’s a beautiful picture of community, generosity, and dignity.
While we hope these donations cover our costs, the truth is they cover only 40% of our operations. 78% of our guests receive a free or subsidized meal, and nearly half of them are only able to contribute $1 or less. That’s why — now more than ever — we rely on the generosity of donors both inside and outside the restaurant to ensure everybody eats.
