2025 was another incredible year for our community. Because of you, we served more people, enrolled and graduated more apprentices, and engaged volunteers to serve more hours than we ever have before. 

So much happened in 2025, its hard to sum up the year. But in true Tonight Show fashion, we have compiled a list of our Top 10:

As we enter this Christmas season, I find myself reflecting on the overflowing good we see each day at Taste Community Restaurants. From Grate-FULL beginnings to the Fruit-FULL change happening in lives across our community, this year has been marked by God’s provision and by your Faith-FULL partnership. 

You may have heard that the federal government shutdown has paused SNAP benefit distributions beginning November 1st. In Tarrant County, 49% of people experiencing food insecurity are eligible for SNAP, and 75,390 households currently receive SNAP, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

For many, this news is unsettling. Budgets are already tight, and families are being forced to make difficult choices between groceries, prescriptions, and other essentials. But here’s the good news: In our community, no one has to be afraid of going hungry...

The City of Arlington is receiving statewide recognition for an innovative partnership  with Taste Project—an innovation that’s redefining how communities can come together to fight food insecurity. Through its collaboration to establish Taste Community Restaurant in Arlington, the City has been awarded the 2025 Municipal Excellence Award in City Spirit from the Texas Municipal League.

Taste Project, the nonprofit behind Taste Community Restaurants, is welcoming the season with the launch of its brand-new Fall Menu, the addition of brunch service at its Arlington location, and the celebration of a major milestone: 300,000 meals served to the community.

As the school year ends, we’re gearing up to serve 40% more guests this summer than we did in the spring. With more children and families in need of nutritious meals while school is out, Taste Community Restaurants are ready to meet the demand with our vibrant new Summer Menu.

Spring is here! This season is marked by asparagus, pea, and strawberry flavors. Initial favorites include our Chilled Asparagus Vichyssoise, Grilled Mahi Mahi Sandwich, Oklahoma Onion Burger, and our Salsa Verde Steak!

Every day at Taste Community Restaurant we serve people who rely on us to meet their basic needs with a healthy nutritious meal.  While there are faster, cheaper, and more efficient ways to feed thousands of people, we remain focused on how we feed people.  And every day people “taste and see the Lord is good”. 

After months of anticipation, Taste Project is excited to announce the grand opening of its second Taste Community Restaurant in Arlington. Located at 200 North Cooper Street, just north of The University of Texas at Arlington, the new restaurant will open its doors to the public on Wednesday, March 5th at 11:00am.

We have officially served over 250,000 meals at Taste Community Restaurant!  This milestone is particularly unique because we operate without prices on our menu. Instead, everyone dines together.  An executive out for a business lunch dines alongside a single parent with her kids who is struggling to make ends meet.  Neither knows the other’s circumstances, yet all enjoy a healthy, nutritious meal.

Renowned TikTok food critic and mixed martial artist, Keith Lee, surprised restaurant-goers and staff at Taste Project’s Taste Community Restaurant in Fort Worth last Thursday, his first and only Fort Worth stop on his DFW Food Tour.

We have earned a place in Yelp’s Top 100 Places to Eat in Texas once again! With nearly 50,000 restaurants across the state of Texas, it can be hard to decide where to eat.

Taste Project is proud to partner again with Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County for a third year in its Fort Worx Culinary Job Training Program, a 16-week paid culinary pre-apprenticeship program.

Last week, we served a record 1,010 people at Taste Community Restaurant!–a record 33% higher than our average week in 2022.

2022 was an incredible year for our community. Because of you, we served more people, engaged volunteers to serve more hours, and graduated and placed more apprentices in living wage jobs than we ever have before.

This month, we commemorate 5 years of service to our community. To celebrate, we are expanding our weekend brunch hours to serve even more people!

Our new Fall Menu launches at Taste Community Restaurant this week. This season, in partnership with local growers, we continue our commitment to provide healthy nutritious food regardless of financial means.
