Grant will bring long-awaited facility improvements to life, helping preserve a community gathering place that has served more than 300,000 meals and is preparing to enter its tenth year of service.

October 21, 2026 – Fort Worth, Texas – Taste Project’s Taste Community Restaurant Fort Worth has proudly been selected to receive a $50,000 grant as part of Lowe's Community Impact Program, helping to check off a bucket list renovation project that will strengthen the local community. Through the program, Lowe's will invest $10 million in Lowe's Community Impact Grants and an additional $10 million to support more than 2,000 associate-led impact projects that will improve community spaces nationwide.

As one of 100 community projects in 2026 that make up this year's grant recipients, the Lowe's Community Impact Grant will benefit Taste Project’s Taste Community Restaurant Fort Worth location by supporting interior and exterior improvements throughout the restaurant. Lowe’s volunteers will paint interior and exterior spaces, refresh the patio and fencing, improve the garden area, and help reorganize the kitchen. These improvements will create a safer, more welcoming, and better-functioning environment for the more than 45,000 meals served annually and help preserve a community resource that has provided more than 300,000 meals since opening its doors. As Taste Community Restaurant Fort Worth approaches its 10th year of service, these upgrades will help ensure Taste Project can continue serving neighbors with excellence, dignity, and hospitality for years to come.

"We are honored to partner with Lowe's on a project that will have a lasting impact on our community," said Jeff Williams, founder. "For nearly a decade, Taste Community Restaurant Fort Worth has welcomed guests from all walks of life to gather around the table and experience dignity, hospitality, and belonging. These improvements will help us continue serving more than 45,000 meals each year, creating a space where people can connect with one another, taste and see that the Lord is good, and build a stronger community for years to come."

The investment fulfills Lowe's Community Impact Program's five-year, $100 million commitment to revitalizing and restoring hometowns. Projects were selected from more than 5,000 nominations through Lowe's Community Bucket List. Each project will address local needs, from expanding food pantries to restoring shelters and safe housing resources to reviving outdoor spaces and renovating facilities for first responders and veterans.

About Taste Project
Taste Project is a 501(c)3 non-profit established to feed, educate, and serve our community so they may “…taste and see the Lord is good.” Psalm 34:8. We believe everyone should have access to healthy nutritious food. Our menu has no prices. This is a give-and-take concept. We ask guests to do one of the following: 1) pay what you can afford, 2) pay what you would typically pay, or 3) pay what you would typically pay, plus a little extra.  In March 2025, Taste Project opened its second Taste Community Restaurant location at 200 North Cooper Street in Arlington.  To learn more, visit us at www.tasteproject.org or find us on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter.
