Our programs are centered around Taste Community Restaurant,
a full-service restaurant where everyone is welcome regardless of financial means.
Those in need and those wanting to help all dine together.

Food insecurity looks different than you might imagine.

One in seven Americans faces the reality of not knowing where their next meal will come from. There are programs that help; however, here in Tarrant County, 40% of food-insecure households live above the poverty line and receive no government assistance.

Right here in Tarrant County, food insecurity is...

  • When a child’s only meal of the day comes from school.

  • When an elderly couple must choose between keeping the lights on or buying groceries.

  • When a two-income family faces unexpected medical bills and can’t afford food.

  • When living in a food desert makes fresh produce nearly impossible to find.

  • When your neighbor loses their job and can’t keep up with the rising cost of housing.

We started Taste Project to ensure everyone has access to healthy, nutritious meals.

When a meal just isn’t enough. . .

  • We offer paid Culinary Job Training for low-income adults.

  • We offer financial literacy workshops through our nonprofit partners.

  • We offer on-site health assessments and nutrition counseling through our nonprofit partners.

Our Founder, Jeff Williams, understands the struggle of food insecurity firsthand. Having grown up in a family where food was sometimes scarce, he understands the struggles many of our neighbors face.

With the support of our community, we bridge the gap left by government programs by providing healthy nutritious food served with love and dignity.

  • “Discovering Taste Project was a blessing I never expected!

I’m inspired by their unwavering commitment to emulating Jesus' love and care for people. Everyone is genuinely welcomed, regardless of their situation, faith, or beliefs.

I can't help but brag about this unique place to all my friends. It's like nothing else in the metroplex – delicious meals, healthy options, and the heartwarming 'pay what you can' concept make it an amazing experience for all. As a donor, I feel truly appreciated, knowing my contribution supports a place that goes above and beyond.” - Bernadette Shults

  • “Working with Taste Project has been a unique and rewarding experience.

I've known the team personally since they opened in 2017, and their integrity and motivations align perfectly with our faith focus. Growing up in a single-parent home where food was a concern, I have a deep compassion for those who face such challenges without anyone to fall back on. One man stopped me in the restaurant to thank me for volunteering. He said he felt like a human again. At Taste Project, everyone can feel cared for and respected.” -Bonnie Wilson

  • “Taste Project is an incredibly joyful and generous cause, making it one of the happiest places to serve and be served.
