TASTE COMMUNITY RESTAURANT SERVES 1,000TH BRUNCH GUEST

Taste Community Restaurant officially served its 1,000th brunch guest and is quickly becoming a favorite brunch spot in Fort Worth. The organization launched its weekend pay-what-you-can brunch service on Sunday, April 21st.
Taste Community Restaurant’s pay-what-you-can brunch service is the first step in expanding its service hours. The organizations efforts were initiated by seed funding from the United Way of Tarrant County’s Kernel Program. In November 2018, Taste Project pitched for seed funding and was awarded $10,000 to expand it’s pay-what-you-can lunch program already in operation.
“We are thrilled to be able to serve and help even more people in our community,” says Jeff Williams, Taste Project Founder and Executive Director. “A few extra hours each month may not sound like much; but, for folks in need it means greater access to healthy and nutritious food served with dignity.”
Taste Community Restaurant is the first project of the Taste Project organization designed to help feed, educate, and serve Tarrant County’s food insecure population, a total of 16.6 percent of Tarrant County’s overall community.
Taste’s solution is a fresh and healthy pay-what-you-can restaurant where everyone in the community, regardless of financial means, can enjoy a healthy, high quality meal, made from seasonal ingredients from the surrounding area. The menu has no prices. Guests are simply asked to:
Pay what you can afford;
Pay what you would typically pay; or
Pay what you would typically pay, plus a little extra to help a neighbor in need.

Fort Worth and surrounding area residents can join their community at Taste Community for a pay-what-you-can brunch every weekend. Brunch is served Saturdays and Sundays from 10am – 2pm.
