TASTE COMMUNITY RESTAURANT LAUNCHES NEW FALL MENU AND REMAINS OPEN FOR GOOD!

Taste Community Restaurant launches its NEW Fall menu this week, as a part of the organization’s continued commitment to be open for good.

“We are committed to remain open to feed everyone in our community regardless of means,” said Chef Jeff Williams, Founder and Executive Director.  “And we hope that our Fall menu creates a warm invitation for everyone to enjoy healthy, nutritious food.”

Taste Community Restaurant, the first project of the Taste Project organization, is designed to help feed, educate, and serve Tarrant County’s food insecure population, a total of 13.9 percent of Tarrant County’s overall community (Feeding America).

Taste’s solution is a fresh and healthy pay-what-you-can restaurant where everyone in the community regardless of financial means can enjoy a healthy, high quality meal, made from seasonal ingredients. The menu has no prices. Guests are asked to:

  1. Pay what you can afford;

  2. Pay what you would typically pay; or

  3. Pay what you would typically pay, plus a little extra to help a neighbor in need.

As a part of its COVID Response, Taste Project has fed over 7,000 people at Taste Community Restaurant.  Since the start of the pandemic, the organization has seen an increase in the number of people in need of its services—many who are dining at Taste Community Restaurant for the very first time.

“My meal at Taste each day is the best part of my day.” – Taste Community Restaurant Guest.

Closure is not an option.  And thanks in part to the Better Together Fund at North Texas Community Foundation, and generous individual donors, Taste Community Restaurant is OPEN FOR GOOD!

“During these challenging times, food insecurity is at an all-time high. Through the Better Together Fund, North Texas Community Foundation is proud to support innovative and critical initiatives like Taste Community Restaurant that ensure local individuals and families have the opportunity to break bread – together,” said Rose Bradshaw, President/CEO of North Texas Community Foundation.

You can show your support for those who are food insecure by joining us for breakfast, lunch, and brunch.  Dine-in and carry-out options are available.  And, if you or someone you know needs help, invite them to join you!
